Booking Terms & Conditions
Your Booking, Understood
Please review our terms before confirming your visit. Paying in full confirms your booking straight away; where your visit is further out, or for a group or event, a 50% deposit holds your time. Please note that cancellations are held as credit rather than refunded, and a cancelled treatment remains chargeable at 50% for the therapist's reserved time. Allura Day Spa
Booking Terms & Conditions — v1.2 — October 2026
1. Booking & Confirmation
All appointments are treated as requests until confirmed by Allura Day Spa. A booking is confirmed once payment has been received — in full, or by the agreed 50% deposit — and these Booking Terms & Conditions have been accepted by the client (or their representative).
2. Payment in Full & Deposits
Paying in full is the standard way to confirm a booking: settle the full treatment, special, package or product amount and nothing further is due on the day of your visit. Where a booking is made further in advance, or is for a group, an event, or several treatments, we may instead accept a 50% deposit to hold your time, with the balance settled on the day of the appointment. Any amount paid is applied toward the total cost of the booking. Retail products are sold on full payment only: no deposit applies to a product purchase, and the full price is payable at the time of order.
3. Payment Methods, Pricing & VAT
Payments may be made by secure online card payment through our payment provider, Yoco — your card details are entered on Yoco's own secure payment page and are never seen or stored by Allura — by electronic funds transfer (EFT), or by card on arrival. Prices are quoted in South African Rand and include VAT at 15% where applicable. Allura may update pricing without notice; a confirmed booking retains the price applicable when it was confirmed.
4. Cancellation, Refunds & Credit
Allura does not ordinarily provide cash refunds on a cancelled booking. Instead, the amount already paid is held as credit on the client's profile, which may be applied toward a future treatment, package or product and remains redeemable for at least three (3) years from the date it was paid, as required by the Consumer Protection Act. Cancellations or rescheduling with more than 48 hours' notice are carried over in full, with no cancellation fee. Cancellations within 48 hours, and non-attendance, are held as credit less the cancellation fee in clause 5 below. Where Allura is unable to render the service that was booked, the client is entitled to a full refund of the amount paid. Nothing in these terms limits any right a client has under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 — including the right to a refund where services are not rendered, or goods are defective or not as described — or under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.
5. Cancellation Fee & Your Therapist's Time
Every treatment requires a therapist, and a therapist's time is reserved and confirmed for the client the moment a booking is confirmed. Allura must pay that therapist for the reserved time whether or not the treatment goes ahead, which is why we ask clients to please be aware of this before booking. For this reason, if a client cancels any treatment or booking they remain responsible for payment of 50% of the booked treatment value, which covers the therapist's confirmed time. Where a deposit has already been paid, that 50% is retained from it and any remaining amount is held as credit; where nothing has been paid, the 50% remains payable on request. Package bookings not cancelled within the required notice period may be charged at the full booking value, at Allura's discretion. This is a reasonable cancellation fee as contemplated by section 17(2) of the Consumer Protection Act, having regard to the nature of the service, the length of notice given, and Allura's ability to fill the reserved time.
6. Late Arrival
Clients are requested to arrive 10 minutes prior to their scheduled appointment. Late arrival will reduce the duration of the treatment, and the full treatment price remains payable. Arrivals more than 15 minutes late may be treated as a cancellation at Allura's discretion.
7. Health, Treatment Consent & Disclosure
Every client undergoes a brief health consultation prior to treatment. Clients must fully disclose any medical conditions, allergies, medications, recent surgeries, pregnancy, or skin sensitivities. Allura reserves the right to decline, modify, or shorten any treatment based on the information disclosed or for the client's wellbeing. Specific treatments may be contraindicated during pregnancy or certain health conditions.
8. Public Liability & Assumption of Risk
All treatments and use of spa facilities are undertaken at the client's own risk. Allura Day Spa, its owners, staff, and contractors take all reasonable care in the provision of services and the maintenance of premises, but accept no liability for personal injury, loss, or damage (whether to person or property) arising from any treatment, product application, or use of facilities, except to the extent caused by the negligence, gross negligence or wilful misconduct of Allura. Nothing in this clause excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by Allura's negligence, or any other liability that may not lawfully be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. Clients participate voluntarily and assume all inherent risks associated with spa, massage, body, and skincare treatments, including but not limited to reactions to products, pressure sensitivity, and pre-existing conditions. Clients are responsible for following staff guidance and aftercare advice.
9. Personal Belongings
Allura provides secure storage for personal belongings during treatments but accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal items, jewellery, electronic devices, or vehicles left on or near the premises. Clients are encouraged to leave valuables at home.
10. Client Conduct
Allura Day Spa is a place of rest and restoration. Disruptive, abusive, or unlawful behaviour, or intoxication, may result in the immediate termination of a treatment or booking without refund, and removal from the premises.
11. Gift Cards, Vouchers & Promotions
Gift cards and vouchers are valid from the date of purchase and expire 90 days after purchase. They are non-transferable and are not refundable for cash. Promotions and specials are subject to availability and their stated terms.
12. Privacy
Personal and health information collected for booking and treatment purposes is handled in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and Allura's privacy practices, and is used solely to provide and improve spa services.
14. Acceptance of Terms
By paying for a booking, and/or signing below, the client confirms they have read, understood and accepted these Booking Terms & Conditions on behalf of themselves and any additional guests in their booking.
13. Consumer Rights & Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002. Nothing in these terms is intended to limit, exclude or waive any right a client has under those Acts; where any provision conflicts with them, the law prevails and the remaining provisions continue to apply. A client who is not satisfied may raise the matter with Allura directly, and may also approach the National Consumer Commission.
